Got a good night's sleep. No decent resturant in town that we could find. Liked: No breakfast Disliked: Well used but clean room. Needs remodeled.

The staff was very friendly and had helpful recommendations for the area. The room was clean and cozy. It was perfect fo
Disappointing, at best... Liked: Staff responded and brought us some ice right away. However, there was no "ice machine" available for customer access. Location on main highway was good, and parking was available in front of your room. Disliked: The features and amenities of this motel do not justify the pricing. It is old and not well maintained. The bathroom door stuck and could not be closed. The front door stuck and could not be opened easily. The room was small and had no space for a desk. (Manager did provide us with a small table, but space was crowded with it in the room.) No Kleenex was provided in the room, and the manager's attitude was poor when I brought it up. ("It's not in our budget to provide Tissues to guest rooms.") Considering all the factors, this room was way overpriced at $102. At that price level, most motels have modern features and tissues in the bathroom. No vending machine on the premises, and no ice machine for the guests. The toilet was totally out of date and unsuitable for men to use.
This was a perfect little retreat off of Route 66. Very nostalgic, quiet and simple. Liked: This motel was like a classic old time motor lodge. The room had the largest king-sized bed I have ever seen. The patchwork quilt on the bed was not expected, but I really liked it. The sheets were also not the ugly plain white, but a tasteful patter to blend with the quilt. The walk-in shower was great, an actual coffee pot with China mugs and fresh ground coffee was perfect. We did not use the ear plugs to mute train noise, though we did hear the train passing several times. Sticky door and all things considered this was a great place to get off the road. A plus is that my car was outside my door.
